I know you are probably sick of threads like this, but I am a total mouse noob and need some help. I currently have a $5 mouse (don't laugh) and I am looking for a major upgrade. I don't have too many budget issues, but of course cheaper is better. I prefer (don't know if this is proper terminology) symmetrical mouses. (so same shape on each half) I also think I would prefer a non-wireless mouse, because I will forget to charge it. Thanks for the suggestions.

What kind of gaming would you primarily be using the mouse for?

If you play a lot of FPS or 3rd person shooters, I recommend the Corsair M65. It has a dedicated sniping button, which lowers DPI for as long as the button is pressed. It's great for picking off people as the get within range.

If you play a lot of MMOs, I'd suggest the Razor Naga. It has a set of 12 programmable buttons on the side, which can be programmed to do a wide variety of things.

If you play things that would be good to have macros for, but don't need to many, I'd suggest the Razor Naga Hex.

If you want to have a mouse that you can customize however you want, use the RAT 9. It barely looks like a mouse.

The RAT 9 looks like a Decepticon or something...

But yeah, I have a free mouse, so I don't really have much advice XD
