Ok, i know a lot of people that are from the South America and they don't play mcsg because they get bad ping in the us servers to be honest if there was a South America server there will be more people buying donor and player a lot on the server because they are going to get better ping.
Ah. I don't know much about the demographics of where people play so I guess I can't say much ahahah. The only problem is this: will the money they pay for the South American servers have a positive benefit money wise? As in, will the people buying donor outweigh the cost of the servers so MCSG can profit. :)

So you want a South America servers? Here's what you need:
  • A server hosting company that Cubedhost can communicate and coordinate with. The server also needs to be able to have sufficient bandwidth and server builds in order to handle the amount of heavy traffic our servers need.
  • A large enough of a dedicated playerbase to keep the servers populated with enough players to have at least 2 active servers for at least 18 hours per day. That's a rough estimate based on personal observation, but that's what I consider a sufficiently-active server population to be sustainable.
  • A large enough of a regular Premium rank playerbase to financially support the month-to-month server cost. Servers are not cheap, especially the further away they get from the US and EU. Furthermore, a majority of players do not pay for Premium. You need a playerbase to overcome both obstacles month to month.
  • Enough staff members to moderate the region. Importing mods wouldn't be a problem, but language barriers would be a serious issue. Bilingualism is a valuable skill, but very rare.
  • Enough motivation and dedication to make the new region a worthwhile decision. Everyone might throw their love and money at the servers for the first month, but if they can't do that for another 5 months then it isn't worth doing.
We learned our lessons with the AS servers, and we're a lot more careful about adding new regions. Adding new regions is not a small thing we can do over a weekend. This takes a month of work, a lot of effort from the devs and admins, and a lot of money; all of those things could easily be put elsewhere to build the community in other ways.

Everyone wants things, but the economic truth of the matter is that we can't have everything we want. We have to be realistic with large decisions like this. And as such you must show us that this is a worthwhile venture before we devote so many resources to it.

Chad, the Devs, and I talked a lot about the AS servers and whether or not it was a worthwhile venture to continue. We argued about this for about 2 months before finally making the decision to discontinue it. We have to put a lot of thought into this, and we know the characteristics of what servers need to be sustainable, and I'm simply putting out the data I thought were most important.

Hello guys, Danny here and I have an idea for MCSG to implement, a South American server. I have heard they have taken out the Asia server and I think it would be a good idea to put in a South American server

There are many players in the community that are from South America and I think they should still be served with a community that they can actually play in and get good ping so they can actually hit players where they don't need to stand in the person to hit them

I do believe that the players coscobplaymc and The_Great_Tito live in South America. I know that there are many many more players that are from South America that play on the US Servers.

I do also think that this is an opportunity to make many more clans for the MCSG Servers to compete with!
There are many good players from SA that would join these clans!

I really don't know if we can make this happen, but I hope we can
i live in brazil!
