Regen problems

The way that regen hacks work is by speeding up the games ticks. So basically there is a certain number of ticks in 1 second (I think its around 30) and this affects everything that happens over time in minecraft including regeneration so if the ticks are speed up (say making 90 ticks happen per second over 60) will make you regenerate 3x faster, but will also make you loose your hunger 3x faster and drown 3x faster. This is why regen hackers tend to instantly die in water and why they need to eat constantly. Golden apples are not the reason why people can regen hack, but there was an old thread I remember reading on how they could be stoped.

I'm inferring that you are accusing me of using regen hacks? You could go ahead and think that, or you can just accept that I know a lot about this particular situation as I am currently learning how to create videogames at school and have somewhat of a knowledge of java.

I think what he means to say is that if golden apples were removed it would be a lot easier to tell if someone was regen hacking because there is no possibility that they ate a golden apple, because it was removed so you would be certain they were hacking if they had more health than they should? Not very much logic behind it, but that might have been what he meant...

Yeah, he could mean that. But then again there would be the golden apple particles. There is one thing I agree with him on, regen hackers need to be taken away from our community.

If golden apples were removed, devs could make it so that the server could automatically kick people who regen faster than normal, because there is no possibility that thy are a golden apple, so they have to have been regen hacking.

In an old thread I read (sorry but there is no way I could find the link to show you) a guy came up with the way that would stop regen hackers by kicking them if they regenerated their health to fast and he even managed to work around lag and golden apples . In a way you are kind of right but golden apples don't fully stop the development for such a plugin, just makes it harder.

Golden apples (specifically notch apples I believe) have everything to do with regen hacks. Anitcheat systems detect when a person regens above a certain rate, but crafting and using a notch apple would simulate this and cause the player to be kicked as well. So for a plugin like that to be used notch apples would first have to be removed.

Actually, I believe golden apples do have something to do with regeneration hackers. I'm not 100% sure of the issue, but basically they regen off of the golden apple effects, and regular health regeneration. If golden apples were removed, regen hackers wouldn't be able to use them in order to regen faster then they normally can.

This is purely based off of what I know and logical assumptions, I may be wrong.

Don't quote me but I heard somewhere that regen hackers get their regen from Notch Apples (The enchanted golden ones). Regular gold apples don't have anything to do with regen hackers. Therefore, taking away golden apples will just make it that much harder to kill a regen hacker.
