Hello everyone:D! So im a youtuber With 800 subs.. And i have a problem. And i decided why not ask you guys!:D
So i do mainly record With DxTory.. the fps is amazing no lag at all... i run about 300-500 fps without recording and maybe 300 while recording.. So my problem is that i kinda do want to use fraps... because DxTory does not give me the quality i want. I do have fullscreen mode in 1920x1080.. and if i change it to 1280x720 it will be way to pixelated. And if i record in windowed mode the sides will be cut off. But if i try to use fraps it Locks my FPS... I have checked all the settings and i am 100% sure there is nothing wrong.
It Locks it from anywhere to 60-150 FPS.. which is giving me lots of motion lag. LOTS. Which is not playable for me;(
Also i do use sony vegas 12. BUt i dont know what 720P settings to use. As my quality always turns out... not very bad... but not good either.

Plz help:3?

I run 200-400 Fps while not recording and drop to 15-60 while I record (same issue with both DxTory and Fraps);-;

I'm not to sure with DxTory and Fraps, but with Sony Vegas the render settings that I use are:
  • Render as > MainConcept AVC/AAC (*.mp4) > Internet HD 720p > Customize Template > Then use the settings below... > Then click the project tab > Video Render Quality > Best. Then you render it.

Leave audio and system the same. Here is a video of me recording with DxTory it being rendering in Sony Vegas (sorry it isn't MCSG, also ignore the copyrighted music ;D)

Did you ever try to use Open Broadcast Software? Brilliant quality, small file sizes and the best is that you can record without any lag spikes and frame drops. You should give it a try, I prefer it over Fraps.

So yeh....my problem is that my settings are on 720P but it records in 1080 because of the fullscreen. But if i go windowed mode sides get cut off.

Adding on to this, one thing people never seem to do is change the bitrate. You will probably notice a huge quality difference when you change it to Constant bit rate and to about 14m-20m.

Fraps is known for decreasing your FPS and also uses a lot of storage space. Try something like Bandicam. Besides, getting between 60-150 FPS while recording is fine. Technically speaking, you don't really need more than 60FPS.

I think there is a setting where you can set how much FPS you would like to have. Not sure though, been a while since I last used it.
