5 ways MCGamer can improve... (Server and forum suggestions)

It has been almost a year since MCSG became part of MCG. However, a year later for some reason I still cannot get my head around why that change has not happened on the forums. This forum has had threads added for all the different game types, but still the URL is minecraftsurvivalgames.net, and it says Survival Games on the top. It is time for your community to be known as MCG not MCSG, as we have grown outside of just Survival Games. It is time for this to change, it is time for mcgamer.com or what ever it will be. minecraftsurvivalgames.com can just redirect to this new URL.

Get this community a proper 1v1 server. Why this was not the first server to be created after MCSG I do not know. It is fairly simple to setup (much simpler plugin then MCTF2 or ZedChase) and provides the player with a place to practice their pvp. A former staff member recently created a 1v1 server, and it is growing very fast and has been a huge success. I know this has been in the long term future plans for Battlegrounds, but I personally would much rather have this before a FFA server. What it all comes down to is I want a 1v1 server ASAP.

Give away platinum donor in more creative ways than a Twitter Giveaway. Ok, before I get into this I get it, Twitter giveaways are a great way to advertise this server as all the retweets are like free marketing. However, instead of giving away a ton on Twitter, how about some of those be through contests on the forums. This would be fun for the community, and be a good way to earn something through creativity, rather than pure luck.

This has been said before, and I think it needs to be said again. MCG needs to work on its leaderboards. Why there is no monthly and weekly leaderboard makes no sense. Most players have no chance of catching any of the players on the front page, but adding monthly and weekly boards would IMO make it more fun as we could still strive to make it to the top of the monthly and weekly boards. Also, it would be really cool to see where the top 20 stacks up on the monthly and weekly categories. I know this would be a lot of work for the devs, but I believe this is more than worth the hard work. Come on kpwn243 you can do it!

#1: We have kept the minecraftsurvivalgames.com because the forums name with that as well as the name of the forums the same gives us better SEO for specific terms.

Well, then we could still get a new banner... The SEO part makes a lot of sense. I should have realized that!

In case anyone is wondering what Kpwn meant by SEO, it means Search Engine Optimization, which basically factors out into how many results you get on Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.

And yeah, these are some pretty dang good ideas, brought into one thread.

Well, there is no general features suggestions, there is only feature suggestions for each game type, so I don't know where to put it.

Based on the success of the other server which I will not name to follow MCG rules, I think it would be very popular. I mean, it wouldn't take a lot to beat QQ, ZC, and SGC.
