I'd bug-in with a good friend who has a tendency to prepare for these sort of situations. I would make daytime runs to a local connivence store for food, fuel, and bottled water. Once the locale has become too infested or resource-drained, we would head into the rural countryside, where there are plenty of well houses with food and other resources. Bottled or distilled water is a must, as we aren't sure how the disease or condition is spread.
