Question Answered, Thread Locked.

Usually I agree with "Question Answered, Thread Locked" posts, but sometimes I dont think the question has been answered. Locking a thread isnt always the correct action I think, sometimes the member may have more questions or another issue has appeared. When a member posts a thread, lets say its about changing an avatar for example. As soon as the player posts it, either a moderator or a member is there saying "Use gravatar etc, etc etc." Now this may be good and all, but what if the player doesnt know how to do that? But alas, the thread is locked.

Now I know recently moderators have been putting "If you wish to unlock this thread report with with "Unlock"" or something right? That may be great but it doesnt always work. The member may not know where the report button is or doesnt know if they should and stuff.

This is why I suppose wait until the player has said "thanks its resolved" or something along those lines. Once the moderators locks the thread the discussion has dropped and its over, but the player might still have problems.

I know moderators are just trying to do their job but I think sometimes moderators prematurely lock threads before the issue has actually been resolved.

They should learn, QA;TL. Just kidding, but in all seriousness moderators do their best and sometimes it does seem like the question at hand has been answered. Sometimes we just don't think about the possibilities that someone doesn't know what we are talking about.

I agree 100% with this.
In the times, when someone has done a Ban Dispute of Report in the wrong place or wrong format, I understand the QA;TL, but yeah sometimes there is a good chance of a good discussion, but yeah the thread gets stopped before it can go on.
But, all mods make mistakes, I think maybe Sr.Mods should just hint, "maybe you shouldn't have locked that thread."

They should learn, QA;TL. Just kidding, but in all seriousness moderators do their best and sometimes it does seem like the question at hand has been answered. Sometimes we just don't think about the possibilities that someone doesn't know what we are talking about.

But atleast wait the the player wants the thread locked or something :3

I've seen multiple cases where mods close threads prematurely and remove opportunity for discussion about topics that should be talked about. ;-;

I absolutely prompt this proposal, there are many instances whereby the user posting the thread is relatively novice to the forums, and may not interpret the McGamer jargon correctly "Like "Report Abuse", "Ban Dispute", "QA;TL", and so on. Moderators should await the approval of the creator before locking the thread, as he/she may have more inquiries. In theory, this would prevent spam threads, since periodically people create multiple follow-up threads demanding for more responses, since the one they received beforehand may not have been sufficient.
