I have a map in development, but i need to know how big the glass dome needs to be

It can be as big as you want, but I'm sure that it depends how big you want the map. Smaller maps (like breeze) are about 300 blocks long, while the giant that is SG3 is over 2000 blocks long.

No. the smallest size is 250 in radius, so 500 in diameter.
