Hello everybody!
I've decided to make this new thread since the last one was both out of date, and was getting difficult to manage. I wasn't sure who was still involved in the project, and who had forgotten about it.
To those of you who are from the original forum, I'm deeply sorry for my absence. As you may or may not of known, I've had a difficult few months due to the passing of a loved one. Things are much better now, and am ready to re-start the project!
tl;dr I'm back on track with the project
The Machinima
The project is still basically the same as it originally was:
I wish to recruit a cohort of enthusiastic and self motivated builders, actors, writers and cameramen (Frapsmen or women!) to work together with the aim of producing a high quality, feature length Minecraft film.
So far process is pretty minimal since I need you guys to help me. I am in the process of re-writing the script which might take me a while to complete. So far a general plot outline is as follows:
*The story is centred around a young Nord (Ambros?), possibly 17(?). All of this will be up for debate. I want this to be a community project, not just me telling you what I want you to do! Though there might be a bit of that
Basic Plot - Many details missing, just a general idea.
-Ambros leaves village for an overnight hunting trip. During the night he thinks he hears roaring through the night but assumes it was the thunder from the storm, returns and 'Dragon' (unnamed so far) has devastated it.
-He talks to the survivors, most of which can't speak from fear and shock. Upset, he looks for his family and discovers that they all had been killed. (Feels bad man ) Now seriously pissed of, Ambro's leaves the village vowing to slay the beast that did this.
*This is the part that will need lots of meat-ing out*
-Basically Ambros travels the world, going to villages to find out information on the beast, where its lair is etc. He gains companions, loses them as well, fights in a few mini battle type things and even gains a lover!
-Towards the end of the movie, having a mini army gathered of companions and mercenaries Ambros is ready to face the beast.
-There's an epic battle (in normal Minecraft, not 'The End') between the mini army, and the dragon (who has an array of un-dead soldiers). Lots of good and bad people die, and eventually the Dragon is slain! *yay*
That's a verrry short and sharp version of what I have in mind. Let me know if you like it!

Projects still up guys! I'm just doing exams, so you guys might need to drive the project for a while...
My last exam is on the 14th of November! But I HAVE BEEN BUSY WITH THE PROJECT!
I've been organising a server (which we have now), I'm adding a few mods so that it's better to film, also more realistic etc...
'TheMinecraftPerson' is currently co-writing the script with me, so soon we can start building and filming!
I also made the decision to release this in episode format, not as a movie. This gives us more flexibility to make changes in future episodes, also we can have a longer series!
I'm also still reviewing applications, so I'm not as yet releasing who's in it. Except for TheMinecraftPerson of course.
(I may have already told some of you you have positions. If I have done this, you still have the job! )
I'll be posting the script for the first episode soon!

Thanks for reading through all of that, it took me a solid two hours to write.... anyway! I'm back in business baby. Before we start filming we will need to finalise the script and builds etc so I'm not sure how long that will take. Feel free to comment about what ever you want, just don't apply in the comments. The reason I'm going all nazi on this is because on the old forum it was difficult to sort through it all. Anyways, I have a build idea for the village:
As you can see I'm using the John Smith texture pack.
I think that covers everything for today.. Thanks again!
