Optifine Gone

So I have heard that Optifine will be off minecraft and maybe only MCSG. Can someone let me know if this is true and what would happen to the money we paid for our capes.

Who is removing them? Mojang/Minecraft have no control over what content a mod has. If optifine were removing them, it would make no financial sense, capes are probably their only source of income.

It is an attempt by Mojang to attempt to get more people to come to Minecon.
Sadly, yes, Mojang can control whether or not the capes are allowed/available.
