When your against a team in water and they're bowing you, do you:
A) shoot back
B) try and dodge and waste their arrows/block with sword
C) Surprise attack
D) dodge their arrows whilst swimming closer
E) Run for dry land?
I had this problem today and tried doing all 5 at once. I got one really low on the surprise attack but then the other knocked me in the water and I was too close to dodge arrows :c

so let's say you have a bunch of bow gods bowing you down with their bow. assume that they have over 64 arrows. i am going to also assume you've got no fishing rod.
you specified a team, which means 2 or more players. in this case don't ever try to engage combat with them.
A) shoot back
don't try to shoot back, even if you land enough hits, if they're smart, they'll dodge your arrows as well. but if he's really close and you have no fishing rod just bow spam at him.
B) try and dodge and waste their arrows / block with sword
this is what i'll do. and will probably let you live. when they charge your bow go into the water and block. if not just keep moving back. when you block the arrows underwater, the arrows tend to do 25% of their normal damage, because i'm quite sure water nullifies arrow damage, so does blocking.
C) surprise attack
this is a dumb way to die. the player will just be able to get ''boosted'' to you, and if you're unlucky he/she can bow you to death, because you would be in range of them dealing damage. surprise attacks will probably also not kill them.
D) dodge their arrows while swimming closer
please don't, refer to C
E) run for dry land
yes, yes, yes. however you must make sure that you have the time to run up the dry land. when you run up dry land you will be very safe from water combat, and you probably have time to do anything you want. just run around the map and hopefully find another fight or another player / team. however do run in a random pattern so it is harder to land arrows on you (zigzag works well, i guess)
what i'll do
here is the scenario, 2 iron dudes with an iron sword gang up on you, with a stone sword and full chain armor. they've got a loaaaaad of arrows and you only have a measly 10. they have fishing rods, while you don't.
here is a tip for sword and bow combat in water.
- go under the opponent to hit them because it is harder to hit a player looking down, than looking up. you will be assured the hit, or a ''water combo''
- for a bow, remember that arrows passing through water lose its power. thus block underwater and you won't get much damage, unless you're at half a heart.
when they run at you, move back along
when they charge their bow, move back while blocking, going up and down underwater. of course you have to make sure you don't drown.
when they try to fishing rod or ''fist'' boost their teammate, just bow spam or go under them to knock him/her back.
note : if they are separated by 20 blocks, or more, take the chance to attempt killing the player to intimidate / discourage them from chasing. the player will also be on low health, thus he will retreat and maybe widen the gap between you and the team. best yet, if you kill one of them.
when you get into land, which is a main priority, just keep running. if they are very close to you on land, and you've got enough food to sustain you and enough health, jump in the water and let them hit you while you jump.
but of course, you are free to attempt killing him on land. but note, if you have to 2v1 them on deathmatch, you're probably dead unless it's a team of randies and you're some pvp god.
