I wouldn't exactly like to pay more for the rank but I want the diamond donor to stay lifetime, maybe if you already have it when platinum rank is officially released it keeps lifetime but if you buy it afterwards it's only for a certain amount of time.

In my opinion, I am happy there is a new rank in the testing so mcsg gets more MONEY to upgrade the server and fix the ghosting issues and the hacking problem, Quit moaning the details haven't even been released yet.

Summary:

Chad owns the MCGamer network, therefore can do what ever we wants; add new game modes, staff etc. This introduction is a good example of initiative. Chad has released this platinum rank to create a new donor ship option for the community and players. If this is successful, it could lead to benefits to him, then to the community.

Furthermore, this new system sounds convenient. Yes, diamond is no longer the highest rank, but I've heard that the price to upgrade your rank is minimal therefore very convenient for all players who want to upgrade their accounts.

The new rank is in beta, if people don't like the rank and nobody wants to upgrade then it could be removed.

Conclusion:

Hardly any information has been released of this "new" rank. Keep calm and carry on

I can think of a lot of donors who will be ticked off. If you do add it, use extra money too fix lag, fix ghosting, and all the bad issues

Honestly, I don't really understand why people demand that the Platinum rank be removed.
You no longer have the top rank? Well that's hardly a justification to remove a yet-unreleased rank altogether. If you make a big deal out of having a higher rank than everyone else, that's your problem; in that case, this is actually a good thing because it's one higher rank to gain.
You were told it wasn't going to happen? For those of you who were at the Owner Q&A, Chad also said that he didn't think MCSG would have lasted two entire years; we can all be wrong, and that it won't necessarily be a bad thing. Plus, for those of you who want to support the community the most, here's your chance.
You think it'll be too expensive? In comparison to other communities, our ranks are on the affordable side. The Platinum rank is supposed to be rare and exclusive, and as such it's supposed to be expensive. It's a top-tier rank, just like everyone else offers.
You don't like what it does? You don't even know what it does! It hasn't been released yet.

Here's all I can say to put some peoples' minds to rest:

• There will likely be an upgrade path for Diamond ranked players. So people who have Diamond now will be able to upgrade at the price difference between the two ranks. You will not need to pay full price.
  
• The Perth group was given the rank as Beta testers because free labor! as a show of appreciation for having people take the time and effort to go down and attend a meet-up like that. One dude traveled over two hours to get there, and we thought that was pretty cool. Really, the Perth giveaway was no different than regular giveaway safe for a nefty new rank.
• The platinum rank will be the new top Premium rank, but it will not override Friend, VIP, or staff member. Those ranks are not user-purchasable, and as such are not considered Premium ranks.

Questions? Concerns? Save them for the actual release.

Also, why can't you stick to naming your donator ranks after vanilla ores/blocks? *sigh* If you absolutely must add another donator rank, name it. Obsidian so that people who have it get a black name. They'd be the "solid rocks" of the community since thatvrank would no doubt become the "hardest" to get.

Diamond is remaining lifetime. If we were to change that for existing users, we'd have a whole lot of chargebacks on our hands, as users would no longer be getting what they paid for.

A'ight, go ahead and test the new rank. But seriously....title it Obsidian and give members black-coloured names. It'd look just...badass. Hard to read for people with absolute crap monitors, but still....mostly awesome.
