Sad to hear that ;( my grandad has Alzheimer's and he remembers me and my bro as Tom and jerry. ;( never knew you could die from it :/

My grandmother has it too, The last few years I've been seeing it getting worse and worse, She used to remember my name.
Now she just calls me: "Boy" and always tells my I've grown so much.
But alzheimer's CAN actually make people die "faster" due the people not having any spirit of life (Have faith in life) anymore, this can cause them die faster, so indirectly you could die by it.

I don't think my grandmother still has that long anymore either.
