What do you think of Homeschooling?

I was in regular schooling for most of my life until I switched into homeschooling just before I stopped schooling. In my opinion, they both have their ups and downs. All preference, I guess.

I think that it is more personalised, however you lose essential social skills

Incorrect. Homeschoing probably has more opportunities for social events than regular schools, so this issue can be avoided. Most areas have a homeschooling group that provides you with that stuff.

I am homeschooled, I live in Illinois ATM, but when I move, there are going to be like, no schools for 100 miles, so it'll be great :3

I prefer regular schooling, it really works on your social skills and it prepares you for the real world.

In the future you will be working with others, like them or not, you will be forced to cope with them, and regular schooling prepares you for this.

I've had the chance to get close to this guy my age who's been homeschooled his entire life, he was a really shy and quiet person, he wouldn't go out to the mall with friends that often and would tell me how hard it was for him to start conversations with different people and especially girls. I'm not saying all homeschooled people are like this, obviously not, but it does affect your social skills. It's got its plus sides I guess like no distractions whilst working and easy manageable schedules.

I was once a home-schooler, up until 7th grade actually. It wasn't necessarily my choice, at the time we lived in a really bad area and the public schools around weren't that great, so my parents decided they'd homeschool me through this online program. I actually think it benefited me a lot more than public school would have as a kid. I had a lot more freedom to have fun, I learned quite a bit in a shorter amount of time, the only thing I struggled with during homeschool was Math, but that was probably just me being horrible at it, like I still am. xD Overall though I do think it was pretty good, it gives you more freedom if you can actually focus to get it done in a short amount of time.
I also liked it a lot because I didn't have to socialize.
I hated socializing.
i still do.

But, after being in normal school for technically 2 years now, I kind of do like it better. Social skills, more stuff to learn about and work on, the only thing I really dislike about it is having to stay at school for seven hours straight, and having to wake up super early. ;-;

Hahah xD Yeah, I've always been horrible at math because I never cared about it and never really tried.. I wish I did though, to this day I'm still absolutely horrible at everything having to do with math. xD
