To be completely honest, this is not the most amazing community, as a moderator on a small time server, i knew everyone, and dealt with tons of their issues. It was enjoyable, being able to know everyone and everything relevant about them. And i want to be able to do that on this community.
Im not sure if it's just that, im not active enough to know everyone? I know a lot of people in clans, so people might know me there. But i want to get active, and make this community the best it can be. So, back to my question. What can we do as as a group to improve this community?
Im opening this thread as a debate, with no flame, but calm and peaceful argument. Please respect others opinions and shoot them down in a calm nice manor if necessary. i will add a list of great ideas, so we can see what the community is lacking, and what we are strong in.

We've just gotta let the mods do their job and hope they can help to rid the community of these hackers and overall pricks, not much we can do but post ban appeals and such to keep people in line and so on, just ignore most of the 12ies on the server and you'll be fine.

Im not speaking of the game, while that is a great idea, im talking about the forums. On Hive, almost every game i joined, someone knew me. Because i did youtube and was active within the community, again im not sure if im just missing the community, or if its missing me.

Personaly,
We should stop complaining about hackers, as the mods and a small portion of the community are trying their best to not get rid of them, but decrease their numbers.

Respect everyone and everything on this server.

Trust me it would make this community a lot better.

Well on mcsg its a little harder to become known, me and alot of friends have become well known on the au servers due to the fact we help people with issues and have some degree of skill, the best way to be known is to be good at the game.

To be honest, these forums are waaaaaay better than most servers'. Much more legitimate activity and more active people.

The main problems are people that aren't very active making repeat complaint threads, but honestly the only thing we can really do is make a front page announcement about it and hope people read it.

I'm not that good as well. Depends on where and how you want to get known. I'm well known on the forums, and in-game I'm not (although my name does get me attention, not many people already knew me). However, people that do know me in-game normally are able to engage in actual discussion and/or teaming for fun, while players like Gravey get known but most people that know him are just like "team pls" or "kill grave"

I agree. But I am referring to in-game. I am not so well known on the forums, actually probably not at all c: but I am well known in-game and I dont know how I got to the stage :(

You're calling him cocky, and then you go and say that? And by the way, I've never heard of you before <3

But, that's not the point of this thread.
I believe that the community is in a good spot, but can definitely improve. First of all, the members.
  • The vast majority of new members on our beloved forums aren't experienced with what goes on around here, and what has already been said, such as threads about the amount of hackers, "bad" moderators, "corrupt" admins, etc. which are either wrong or said so many times that I would actually rather die to a hacker than one of these new members.
  • Older, more experienced members (even myself, unfortunately) often get cocky, or mad at these new members who are innocently posting their thoughts. This drives away those people who could potentially grow to become great posters, and keeps the old, grumpy posters.

I was going to post more but I have to go >_<
