Should there be an incentive for report hackers?

I'm in a bit of a rush to make this thread, but I was wondering whether you guys thought it'd be good to have an incentive for reporting hackers. This way, more people would be motivated to report hackers, and there would be significantly less hackers on MCSG. In addition to this, people would have an incentive to look forward too.

Pretty much a win-win.

Your thoughts?

So basically people would be rewarded with something to report hackers ?
I'm not sure that would be the best idea. I think the way you report people now is good enough. Obviously its your community to so if you're annoyed about the mass amounts of hackers, you should do something about it "report it". Therefor if you don't do anything about it. There will still be hackers.

But this was only my opinion. If someone else comments with something i like i'd be sure to go with it :D

I'd say something along the lines of for every 100 hackers reported, an account of the reporter's choice would get one month iron donor.

I feel like it'll create a lot more hackusations, bickering, and false reports.
There are already alot of hackusations. I feel like this will not dramatically affect the number of false reports, and even if it did, the number of actual hacker reports would skyrocket, deterring future hackers. Even I occasionally don't feel the need to report. And the fact that the amount of players dramatically exceeds the number of moderators also influences me to push for.this idea.People would have a goal to work for. I feel as if this idea is worth a try, because it's positives outweigh the negatives.

This is the wrong place to post that, please create a new thread here:

And use the template found here: http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/report-abuse-templates.6742/

Concerning the thread itself:
I do think that an incentive for reporting hackers would be nice. However, as was already brought up by RC, there would be many more "hackusations," bickering, and false reports, etc.
So, I believe that if this was implemented, then there should be a slight punishment for having a false report.
One example would be that if someone reported an obviously innocent player, then they would have, say, 100 points taken away. It's nothing that can't be earned back, but it does mean the difference between perhaps a piece of raw porkchop and an enderpearl.
However, if the video showed that the person was indeed suspicious, but the evidence simply was not enough to convict them, then there was no punishment.

And, of course, maybe 100-500 points for a successful report. It won't put you way ahead of the game like a stone sword right at the beginning of the game might, but it can make you feel better, and also you can be a nice guy and sponsor your friends more!

Or, as was mentioned above by Salamancer, a credit that goes towards a donor rank. Every successful report you make, you get 1 credit. At 50 or 100 credits, you can get Iron Donor for 1 month. At 300 credits, Gold. At 500 or 750 or 1000 credits, maybe even Diamond?!?! :O (A Gift Code or something, so you can gift it to a friend if you want.)
Additionally, if you make a false report, you get 1 or even 2 credits taken away, or perhaps a percentage such as 1% of your credits. This will make it much harder for people to spam reports, and will give a punishment (Or at least a risk) for doing so. And thus, it will also be tougher for people to achieve those donor ranks, which normally need to be paid for. This way, instead of paying money the person pays with their time and dedication to help :)

(Also if Mods were able to do this, it would be like a payment for doing their job, since staff members don't get paid to be staff.)

People will start attempting to forge reports to get rewards for a successful report. The reward for a report being successful should be knowing that the player has been dealt with. That's the entire concept of reports in the first place, isn't it? People will only report people for the sole fact of gaining a prize for it. It's going to bring a negative role towards the community, in my opinion.

Forging hacking reports is impossible due to the requirements of the video footage.
