Welcome to Open Mic Night's Official Forum Page! Here you can find links to everything OMN-Related, and find news about upcoming events!
What is Open Mic Night? Open Mic Night (also known as 'OMN') is a TeamSpeak event in which people from around the world can share their talents through singing, playing an instrument, speaking, etc. Both US and EU have their own events.
We encourage you to come and enjoy the show, whether you are performing, or just listening.

*NOTICE* EU Events will be hosted on the MCGamer TeamSpeak (ts.mcgamer.net) until further notice.

We are currently holding OMN on the MCGamer Teamspeak: ts.mcgamer.net
Feel free to join OMN's private teamspeak server as well: ts.omn.so

FOR MORE INFORMATION ON DATES FOR OMN EVENTS, PLEASE VISIT THE FOLLOWING LINK:
http://omn.so/calendar/
US Events take place every other Saturday from 8-11pm CST.
For more information on EU Events, please visit: http://omn.so/omn-europe/

RULES (Please Read):
Any rule breaking will result in a ban/kick, with or without warning, no exceptions.

All rules are subject to change at any time

Any performers that break the rules will be removed from the performance sheet.

1. You can and will be skipped (and you will be required to sign up again) if…
A. The OMN Staff can not find you in the OMN Lounge.
B. You are not prepared when it comes to your turn.

2. Be respectful of everyone that is performing, and everyone present during Open Mic Night events.
- Do not post hateful or unnecessary comments in the chat. (This includes constructive criticism.)
- Keep the chat relevant to the performance, or at least Open Mic Night.
- If the event is taking place over MCGamer’s TeamSpeak, do not poke, message, or distract the performer in any way.

3. Be respectful to all Staff and their decisions. This includes MCGamer staff as well as OMN Staff.
- This includes interfering and/or commenting on a punishment from the OMN TeamSpeak and/or punishments received on any MCGamer server.

4. Do not use caps, colored, bold, italicized, underlined, or any special text in the chat unless you are an OMN Staff member.

5. You are only allowed to sign up yourself. Do not sign up someone else, and do not sign up under a false name.
- If someone wants to sign up, they can do that themselves.
- If you are caught signing up under a false name, you will no longer be allowed to perform at OMN. You may also face further consequences.

6. Do not record unless the performer says it is alright. This is illegal, even if you are keeping it just for yourself.
- We aren’t stupid, we know you can record with a 3rd-Party application and just not tell anyone that you recorded anything. However, we expect all users to be courteous enough to be respectful and not record anyone that does not wish to be recorded.
- If we ask you to stop recording and you ignore the request, you will be kicked from the server and/or channel. If you return (recording), you will be banned.

7. Any racially offensive, derogatory, or crude content will be prohibited.
- This will result in a permanent ban from the TeamSpeak server. We have a zero-tolerance policy for this.

8. Only 1 “Shout-Out” is allowed per performance. Shout-Outs reduce a lot of the time we have for performers and multiple shout-outs often get out-of-hand.
- If you start to make multiple shout-outs, your talk privileges will be removed and we will move on to the next performer.

9. You may not change your sign-up time. (I.e. If you need to leave early, we can’t bump your performance up the list.)

10. Please do not sign up to perform numerous times for one event. (Maximum of 2-3 Performances, please)
- We want to give everyone a chance to perform, and it is a bit rude to allow one person to perform throughout the entire night while others get no chance.

TeamSpeak Rules
1. All Open Mic Night rules apply.
2. Do not use profanity or any type of derogatory language unless given permission to do so. (Swearing)
3. Obnoxious noises, soundboards, and/or screaming is/are prohibited.
4. Excessive caps or spamming in any channel will not be tolerated.
5. Do not share personal information over the TeamSpeak. (Full name, address, phone number, etc.)
6. Do not spam/flood the console. I.e. Switching channels constantly.
7. Do not connect or use an inappropriate and/or offensive name while using the Open Mic Night TeamSpeak.
8. Do not advertise other TeamSpeak servers or anything unrelated to Open Mic Night.
8a. You may self-advertise (Twitter, YouTube, etc.) so long as you do not spam.

All MCGamer TeamSpeak Rules and OMN Rules apply when an event is hosted on the MCGamer TeamSpeak!
MCGamer TeamSpeak Rules are as follows:
Please remember that…
1. These rules are subject to change at any time
2. By playing on our servers, you agree to follow these rules and understand that if you break these rules, you will face consequences that could lead up to permanent removal from the community.

1. Respect all staff members and their decisions: We expect members to listen and respect staff members.
2. Do not disrespect or harass other members: We want people to in our community to feel safe and respected.
3. Do not use derogatory or profane language: There are many members in our community of various ages and words that are not appropriate should not be spoken or seen.
4. Do not discriminate other members: Our member base consist of people of many different races, genders, country, religion, sexual orientation, etc. We do not want our members to feel left out due to them being different.
5. Do not spam:Spamming is an unnecessary way of gaining attention, and spamming is obnoxious. It prioritizes one person’s message over another.
6. Do not use excessive caps: Excessive caps prioritize a person’s message over others, similar to spam, and is often viewed as screaming or shouting.
7. Do not advertise: Advertising other communities or events in order to profit is prohibited.
8. Do not start argue/flame wars: We want to keep the community peaceful; a place where people are free to have opinions and discuss things. Arguments ruin discussions and are unnecessary.
9. Do not exploit bugs or glitches: We want to the servers to be the best that it can be and if a bug or glitch is spotted, report it to staff privately ASAP.
10. Do not use alternate accounts to benefit you: Using alternate accounts...
11. Do not mislead people: Do not mislead people into learning false information that will trick them into doing something idiotic.
12. No non members of staff can be in a staff channel with out a member of staff and they will be moved out if there is no member of staff present.
13. Mass demonstrations that attempt to sway community policy through public displays is not allowed. Mass messages, poke campaigns, hashtag phrases (e.g. #ChadForBanned) and the like will be considered a kickable offense.
