I don't think that you should tell them to write a paragraph. If they really wanted to get in they would read the clan thread and write a proper application.

A few of the current people on our roster forgot to write a paragraph when they first applied. Some people just don't like reading entire threads, so I'm fine with reminding those people to write their paragraph.

I think what he's trying to say is that people actually in the clan should remind them.

If they really wanted to get in they would read the clan thread and write a proper application.

He's implying that people should read the whole thread before applying, which is definitely true, but some people end up not doing so, in which case I'm completely fine with reminding them, or letting someone else remind them.
