Skin glitching?

This is something that has been driving me up the wall recently, when I join lobbies or even enter the MCSG server my skin seems to change to something that isn't mine, I know this can be texture pack related (I use Lovelights RP sometimes and it changes to his skin), however when I update my skin via my profile on the official minecraft.net site, the skin will change in the hub lobby, however entering an in game lobby will cause this to disappear again and change to the common cactus type skin or steve.

Anyone know my problem who can help me out? Much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure this is a problem with 1.7.9+, it's been happening to me as well. I am guessing there will be a fix in 1.8.

It's an issue with minecraft itself, try using an older minecraft version such as 1.7.5
