At the start of each match we spend 5 minutes waiting to play. After 12 games that's 60 minutes of every players lives gone. I have a suggestion that may reduce the time spent in the lobby. What I propose is that upon logging into a server every player is forced to vote. If they do not vote they cannot move around (or something else that will make sure they do in fact vote). If the server is full and all players have voted then the game will start. Of course sometimes the server may not fill up to its maximum. The 5 minute limit should still be in place just in case this happens (it's rare though let's face it). Some players may join and vote but then leave before all players have voted. That doesn't matter though as the game only begins once all logged in players have voted (in a full server) or the time limit has been reached.
I can't be the only one that thinks 5 minutes is too long?
What do people think? Is it possible to implement?
