If the resource pack was a .zip or .rar file when you downloaded it, make sure to export it and to drag the map that is inside the file into the Resource Packs folder in your .minecraft. Directly dragging in the .zip or .rar file will most likely not work if it contains both a Windows and Mac OS X version and since you only need to use one of them, according to which operating system you are using.

Can you let us know if that works, please? :)

I don't think this is the problem.

Austin_HG's resource pack, Frostbite, is the resolution of 512x, or the highest resolution. Your computer might not be the best to actually be able to run this texture pack. You can try allocating more RAM to Minecraft to see if that will work

To actually allocate more RAM to Minecraft, there are many videos on YT on how to do it.

Open with winzip/winrar. Then, make a new folder on your desktop named whatever the resource pack is. Then, drag the contents of the .zip/.rar file, into the folder. Next, drag that folder into resource packs :)
