Hello all,
We've all been in that situation. You're undergeared, leather boots, pants, a gold helmet and chain chestplate. Then, something magical happens. A person with almost full iron armour appears out of nowhere. You attempt to fight him until you realise something. He has no weapon. It's your golden opportunity to get back in the game. Suddenly, your hopes and dreams are crushed and frustration fills your little pixelated body. He has logged out. That armour, the arrows, the fns, all of it, gone. You want to curl up into a ball and cry yourself to sleep.
Alright, maybe I exaggerated a tiny bit. But in all seriousness, I'm finding a combat logger every 3-4 games, and it's rather annoying. I would say something else but I want to protect the innocence of the young ones on these forums.
I don't understand why MCGamer hasn't implemented this earlier, or if they're going to, but the sooner, the better. We need a combat log system.
The way I imagine this working is once you hit a player you and the person you're attacking is in "combat" mode, and if either of you log out you'll be punished (15 minute ban first offence?) and your loot will drop to the floor. The last part of the previous statement is by far the most important part. Your loot needs to drop, otherwise it defeats the purpose.
Obviously this "combat mode" won't last forever. It should last 10-20 seconds in my opinion, but that time could be extended to 30-40 seconds if you're within 7 blocks of the player you're attacking. It should also end once the person you're attacking is dead.
If you have any further questions, please comment below or message me.
Thanks,
Moose.
Edit 1: Thanks to those who have given me feedback, and with that I've decided to add this.
When someone logs out/lags out it sends different messages on the console. Would possible possible for the devs to use this so those who lag out don't get punished?
On the terms of someone leaving for other reasons, they can /kill or accept their death, and remember if they aren't in combat mode they won't be punished.
