(sorry if this has been suggested before)
Hi!
So at MCSG, we have the even known as "Hell Games", where 24 or 48 tributes are chosen and battle it out in a custom map. I was thinking: We have an event for all the people who like the SG part itself, but what about the building aspect? And then I came up with the idea of a build-off event. Please note this is not an actual even I, or anyone else, is or is going to be hosting at the moment, it is merely an idea.
In short, twenty-four people will be chosen after applications have been scanned through. At the same time, there is a poll to vote on what subject the tribute should build on. The results of the poll will NOT be disclosed until the day of the event (we'll probably use a google poll or something). There will not be any teams in this event (that wouldn't make sense lol). In the actual event itself, there will be 24 individual 50x50 block plots separated by walls. When the timer begins, the players will have one hour to build something related to the topic revealed moments before the event begins.
Once the event is over, and everyone is done building, the walls will sink and show each tribute's build. The tributes may have time to look at each other's builds, but the actual event is over. They are not allowed to add or remove anything from their build at this point. Now comes the judging part. The owner(s) of each main build team (Team Elite, Red Forest, maybe Team Apollo....erm....etc.) will judge each build using the criterion below:
- Creativity /10
- Originality /10
- Aesthetics /10
- Conformation to the chosen topic /10
- Overall /10
Total /50
The judges will be allowed to use decimals, so they can give point marks. In the scenario of a tiebreaker, the community will vote for which build they prefer. There should definitely be a huge disclaimer "THIS IS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST"
So yeah, this is just an idea that I came up with on the spot. Everything you see above is subject to change. Leave feedback and suggestions below.
Thanks!
