Box trick Leafgreen?

Is it possible to do the box trick on leafgreen? And how do you do it? My Charizard is kinda underpowered, here are the stats:

Attack: 219
Defense: 195
SP.ATK: 239
SP.DEF: 215
Speed:256

You fight a lot of pokemon with DV's and you put your pokemon in the PC then take it out, and then it has better stats.
