well that would be a good idea but people would just bet on who has full diamond and then BAM tons of extra points. but what they could do is something like this.
make about 48 slots each sever is you got on before 25 you would get to play in games but if you did not you would go into a cool place called the hub and there should be a room where you gamble points before the match starts

Ok but then the 24 of them that didn't get to play would be disappointed that they couldn't play and mostly leave to look for a new server and with the new 5 minute cool down for donators that will be a pain. Also why not just have it so as soon as you die or as you join if you did not previously just make a bet come up with a screen that says would you like to bet and on whom because they you have to bet of memory or the person that just killed you. And if you just joined you don't know who is the best off. ALSO might I just say betting on the full iron isn't always the best choice because some people (me included) and wreck them even if they don't have that good stuff them selves. It's not that weapon or the armour that makes the threat it's the skill that's involved.
