A little while I made a thread about how we could make it so that when someone joins the server, the server checks if .minecraft is modified in anyway besides shaders or optifine. It wouldn't work because this is illegal to have the server search through the computer without the user agreeing to anything. I actually just happened to be talking to someone who is an expert on computers and such, they said that it would be fine to do if the person simply clicked yes to some end user license agreement or something like that. It would be clear that all it would do is check your .minecraft, and it would be simple, all you do is hit yes each time you join, it wouldn't really be a hassle. If the .minecraft was modified in any way other than shaders or optifine, (server can compare it to all versions of optifine and shaders) just kick the person from the server. It might not work, I'm not really sure, just an idea I had, to talk about if it could be used it any way.

Sounds like a good idea, but i'm not entirely sure that it's possible. From my "Medium" knowledge of MC servers I have never encountered anything that would be able to do this. Guess we'll have to wait for a Dev to comment on this!

To be able to check someones .minecraft folder we would need to make a standalone version of MCGamer. Normal minecraft does't give us the ability to perform such actions. And if we needed a standalone to play survival games on our server we would probably lose alot of our audience as new players would not go through the trouble to download it and alot of the current players will be confused on how to play.

Please don't mind my spelling I wrote this quickly on my phone

MoLoTov is correct. The ability to do this through minecraft would be impossible. It is a cool idea don't get me wrong (except there would be a lot of hiccups where it wouldn't recognize a shaders mod or something correctly). but its probably not feasible IMO. Some services have a feature like this, a "health check." We are currently implementing a system at my college that to use the VPN you have to allow an applet to see if you have your updates, an antivirus, etc. This is not possible within minecraft because it only has access and privileges to do certain things.
