1.8 Username Changing

https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/441202873599545344 It's confirmed by Mojang that you will be able to change your username in 1.8 or something like that. How will this affect the leaderboards, people who have been banned, and people with donor ranks? I'm really excited for this, I hate my username .

In mojang accounts, doesn't MC accounts have a player ID? So if they change their name, the player ID should stay the same. And bans will be normal. (My guess)

I think it is tracked on an ID so nothing will change only your name.

Your name is tied to your ID. The name is only superficial.

Ban the person by g-line (form of permanent ban that's difficult to evade even with a dynamic IP or different devices) instead of, or in addition to, using /ban + /cb in-game.

Anywho, I'm excited for this news. My video intros can finally be shortened from "saharamojave or AlgerWaterlow here" to simply Saharamojave (I was like 14 when I made my Youtube account - don't judge ).
