MCSG TOURNAMENT​

Hey, so this has been on my head for quite a while and I thought why not make a thread about it. A few weeks ago I was planning to make a thread about this but since I had a lot of work to do I never was able to write it. But today, I seem to have a lot of free space so.. why not do it now.​

As we've seen before, there has been plenty of games such as League of Legends and other games (including indie games) have had tournaments, so I thought why not do this for MCSG. It would be a fun event for everyone but before we even start we have to get things planned. There are several methods we can tackle the idea of teams with. The matches can either be team vs team, as in pre determined teams are pit againt each other in a match for survival. The other method that was suggested to me in the comments below is to have random teams. What this means is that players will be joining alone, but there will be an equal amount of players (e.g 8 players). These players will then forge alliances each other, making for a much more interesting match since the teams will be made of 2 players and are randomly decided once the match has begun. This allows for a much more interesting flow to the game as you never know what pair of players you are going to see together next. Ofcourse, unlike teaming in normal MCSG matches, there will not be only one winner, but the winners will be the 2 partners who are the last standing. I thought we'd get a few YouTubers to help host this event, they're the ones that will be commentating over the game and everyone else will be able to see the game on a huge livestream. Not only does this event make MCSG more popular but it also attracts new people to Minecraft which gives Mojang enough money to add updates faster and work on new games. ​

So, if you'd like to see this ever happen please vote on this poll. I'd love to see how many supporters we get when I post this thread and if we achieve enough supporters we will make this happen! Try to spread the news further so we get more supporters and some of the popular youtubers might notice this too!​

What size team are you talking about? And would anyone have e opportunity to try to have their team voted in? I'd love to try to play with HalfSquirrel and potentially other people depending on team size.

The clan must pick out 5 players to partecipate in this tournament. And.. I'm not really sure that everyone would have the opportunity but.. right now I'm thinking of only taking in the popular (best) teams. If someone finds a better idea they can comment and tell me.

I'll defenitely use that idea, for now I'd like to see the amount of supporters we actually get and how popular this might become.

My suggestion is that you shouldn't make it Clan VS Clan though. That's pretty much more clan wars, and we've already had a Clan Tournament (last month). So why not just make it teams of collections of players? I don't know if that's what you were planning already, but either way I think it makes more sense.

I didn't mean random people, I just meant groups of friends or something instead of clans. But I just got another idea! It could be teams of an even number above 2 but at max half a server, and each person can pick a partner they want to be with. The groups of 2 partners are then combined to make the team randomly!
