Placing Lava/Water buckets

So I've been told I can't place lava/water buckets anymore.
I have seen plenty of ppl placing them recently.
This is the last time I ever did as I was told midgame and had to remove them all...

Before that time an effective strategy was to surround corn with lava except one smalle area then in dm run through it and place one final bucket of lava...
With the new lightning system you are guarenteed to win.
Anyways, I'd like to be able to place lava/water again.
It does not cause server lag as many claim.
If it is too OP I might understand that.
What does everyone think?

I think its strategic, but It is not hard to craft 2 buckets then wreck the world.

Which is biased. It can, and definately will lag many players.

It does definitely cause client lag, which is the reason Demon's Breeze is being removed. The reason it wouldn't lag you is because you either have a good computer or you have your sound turned down.
