Should the media section be removed?

I find it unnecessary. Those threads that are constantly locked and deleted could simply be moved to a "YouTube" section, but we'd need to make rules about episodes so it wouldn't be spammed with "SG #1" "SG #154" "SG #2048" threads, etc.

What I'd like to see is the removal of the Media Section, and the implementation of a section on the forums just like the Community Corner in which people are encouraged to share YouTube videos, whether they are made by the thread creator or liked by the thread creator. It'd be a good place to share and introduce some fun into the community

I think any new add ons to the Forums, just like add ons in-game are good, as long as they add something new. If the Media section was fine, I feel as though it would all be okay, but for now, I really don't know how I feel on this subject

This post is not a necro. This thread still is relevant today and rather than writing a new thread I am going to bring this issue back up. As far as I am concerned, this falls under the exception in the rules that allows necro posting on threads that are still relevant.

The media section has once again been broken for a long period of time (since October) so lets get rid of it. As this thread has proven most people don't actually watch media in it anyway. Signatures and profile posts are sufficient ways to advertise.

Perhaps adapt the Media Section to a section on the forums where players are able to make threads showcasing the video(s).

Of course this could spam the recent threads but they should be able to disable that as they did with the Report Abuses.

You can't revamp it. It is a Xenforo plugin that the devs have no control over. The best option in my opinion is just to have a forum where you can post threads with your videos.

When I meant revamp it meant to change how the system works, not the functionality of the current media plugin. Let me elaborate. Creating a place on the forums like the community corner where you post videos instead and can advertise your channels, such like the forums on planet minecraft was one revamp I had in mind.
