What if they still lost the regular amount of points, but a little message came up saying something like "plus 10% points boost".
People would be able to use that system in order to boost their points. They grab a friend or two who all have donor, and they take turns killing each other then drowning or something. They would gain points indefinitely.

Points don't matter very much other than ability to sponsor or bounty, I don't really think people would be willing to sacrifice their win/loss to get a 10% point boost. Making it so donors get some extra points is nice for the donors and could be a deciding factor for some people on whether to get donor or not, but it's not so much of an advantage that it messes up the balance of the game.

Then why do you think MCSG always removes Points Glitches whenever they appear? Because they don't want people gaining illegitimate points. Eventually someone could boost to the point that they have hundreds of thousands of points in just a few hours.

Think about it, on average you gain about 50 points per kill, if you get a 10% boost from that, that's an extra 5 points. Even if you are killing someone that gives you say, 300 points. That's still only an extra 30 points with the 10% boost. It's a nice little boost but not enough to make it worth repeatedly boosting. Boosting points could also be made a bannable offence.

But it's rather hard to catch someone boosting, don't you think? It would require spectating several games with those people. If someone gets 2,000 points, then it's 100 points for killing them, plus an extra 20. (10%)

With the method that I devised using the proposed system, assuming both people start with exactly 1,000 points, people would go from 1000 to 1050, then 1107, and the intervals would continue to increase. I'm too lazy to do the exact math, but once you hit 10k+ points, it's just absurd.

Dunno possibly it would be a good idea but I can see the flaw in it where people will complain its way to unfair xD
That's what I meant. However I do understand that it could be easily misinterpreted, my bad.

When mods suspect someone of it, they can do /stats to see what lobby they are in. Although, it would be difficult, it would be possible. Also remember that once they go from 1000 to 1050 plus the point boost, when the other person kills them, they would lose almost all of the points they gained. It would be extremely ineffective to gain points this way and would take a large amount of time to get anywhere doing this.

I like all of these ideas, except the one about adding things to the sponsor menu.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE for more items such as boats, 3 xp bottles instead of 2, fishing rods, ect. to be added to the sponsor menu, but I think it should be allowed for everyone. It's more of an ingame thing...it would be a greater advantage given to the donors. I don't know exactly how to explain myself....but basically it's just something that I think everyone should be allowed to use.

xD

I did the math - They would end up with 50 more points than they started. They lose 50 when they die, but gain 100.

The point glitch will happen again. The idea of having points being the same lost as gained is so that the only way points can get into the system is when a new player gets an achievement. Therefore the ratio of points to players is always equal and fair. Having 10% gained when donors get killed would cause new points being created, and the point glitch happening again essentially.
Edit: I basically repeated what Mooclan said. Except it is important to note that while it may be 5-30 points extra per kill, there are hundreds upon hundreds of donors getting kills each day, more than likely 25+ a day. With that in mind, it would take almost no time to increase the amount of points in circulation by the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS simply from unconscious players getting kills. It would cause an issue.
