Well, to my knowledge, when you first join a lobby (or any game) your ping will be better, but that ISN'T your normal ping. As you stay in the lobby for longer, the signal gets worse.

If your ping goes from 60 to 180, maybe you're playing in teh wrong region. If you liv in the US, try the US region, if you livin EU, try EU, same with CA, and AU. I'm not exactly sure if my explanation is correct, but it is to the best of my knowledge. Hope this helps. c:

Hm... Wierd... Maybe you just hav bad internet, or live too far from where the severs are actually hosted. I really don't know. But 180 - 200 ping is still fine, I've won with 400 ping before, if you can useit to your avanage, you have noting to worry about. :)

Hello,

When you first join a game the server says your ping is lower than it really is (/ping). If that's not the case here, like for example it happens randomly when you're playing, then it may be your internet. See if other people are using your internet and see if that's the problem. If not, you may be playing on a server hosted in another region.

Connect to MCGamer through any one of these IP's corresponding to your location:

United States = US.MCGamer.net
Canada = CA.MCGamer.net
Europe = EU.MCGamer.net
Australia = AU.MCGamer.net

If that doesn't solve your problem, check your computer if anything is updating or any bandwidth consuming applications are open. If so, close them.

It would have something to do with the data stream coming from between your client and the server. Initially, the data stream will have less data in it (eg joining a lobby) but when you're playing a game, because there's more information to be shared between your client and the server, you use up more bandwidth which inherently makes your ping higher.

In layman's or simple terms, you being in the lobby doesn't require much data, but being in a game requires more.
