Why are a lot of the servers down?

i was just wondering, it seems as though a lot of the survival games servers are down and i was wondering why. Is it because of the 1.3.2 update? i have the us servers 1-17 on my server list and i can only connect to 2-3 servers, and the rest appear down. Is this just me? Thank you for your help.

I think they are fixing some RAM issues, maybe thats why

The servers were being updated last night (see here), which was most likely your issue. Most, if not all, are now back up, so you should no longer have any problems.
