Recently, there has been a TON of additions to the staff team, and I'm seeing new mods everyday. I know there have been a lot of threads/status updates about some of the new mod additions being kind of.. off. What I mean is, since they are new, they may be not as experienced as some of our older staff. Now I'm not saying I'm not annoyed at some of these staff, because I slightly am. But guys, lets give these guys a break.

There have also been some staff members who have joined a few months/weeks ago, and have still acquired the position. I don't completely agree with this, but its Chad's server .

Conclusion:
Lets give these mods a little break and let them settle in to the new position!

This is true however we must respect the decisions of the Sr. Staff and higher authorities when it comes to the application process and trust that if someone is given the "Blood Donor" rank that they have shown that they are able to perform the the duties as a moderator. We must believe that if they have been accepted as Staff that they have experience and will be able to perform tasks to better the community. I do not see a problem with this unless moderators are abusing their power, in which case they will be demoted anyway. As for experience, as long as you are responsible and are able to act in a respectful and professional manner, the training you recieve becoming a moderator gives you the experience. Not that you are wrong but you are correct in saying this is Chad's server and you do not have a say in who becomes staff so you have to accept it and hopefully make friends and welcome new staff members.

All mods make mistakes when they're first hired. It took me especially a long time to become accustomed to becoming a moderator, so it's best if we all just lay off on harassing moderators we don't know the full story behind.

exact, I applied back when the servers really needed Italian staff (not like they don't need it as of right now) and didn't even get to pending wrtiting a lot, having the necessary age and an exceptional English writing/speaking skills (not to brag, but no other Italian members can compete with me when it comes to English communication); now I have 2 bans on NickSharpx which basically means I'm not ever going to get the rank (a full year has not even passed, my most recent was about 2 weeks ago, on my bday), but it's not like I care anymore. With some staff members, the less experienced ones as you said, I don't really see the servers going that well. Let's say Turkish mods for example. All they do is type in fricking Turkish messages and if you try to get in touch with them they won't even aswer to you; their grammar is pretty discussable.
Back then it was really hard to get the rank, as it really represented an important position, not it just looks to me like everybody gets it easily, which is actually kinda true. I mean some of the ranks are clearly deserved, but some others are assigned randomly I believe, as I just can't get how some people can get theirselves in such an important position with no experience at all. It's not like I actually judge people from stats, but seeing Mods with a 1/hundreds really concerns me about their rulebreakers recognition skills.

Honestly, I think it's just plain out wrong to give Moderator to someone who just arrived here and barely anyone knows. Not like I harass them or anything with them being new, but at least have some experience on the servers first or at least know people in the community. And Moderator's usually come in and protect them saying "As long as they can do the job right!". Now I only have one problem with that statement, how can you be certain on how good this person will do their job? Like think about it, they could be a DDoSer or something. Most of the time they just want the rank just for the sake of having power or the rank gets you "known".

This is true. Not many mods change how they act. I didn't make a complete 180 turn around when I got mod I just acted more mature and thought twice before sending or saying something.

It seems like the staff team is growing faster than the overall community...
I think they only really need diverse members that can fluently comprehend, speak and write in other languages (besides English) to accommodate the minority of players. Outside of that, I don't necessarily see the importance of having so much staff. But hey, it's better to go overkill than...whatever the opposite of overkill is. Underkill?

And to be completely honest, the root of these immoral applicants may be in ourselves. We're the ones who treat the staff as if they've bested us in every way possible, trumped our capabilities and have become insurmountably prestigious, residing in the upper echelons of the MCGamer community (ok maybe this is a bit exaggerated). There isn't a whole heck of a lot that differentiates us from them in the thick of it. If we take a step back and re-appraise them, it won't be so much of a popularity contest. Sure, they can ban people. That doesn't necessarily mean they are better than you in any way. It also doesn't mean that they can just ban you at any moment in time (you actually have to do something wrong).

I would really love to live the day where the moderator rank on the forums and in-game is hidden, and instead of contacting specific staff members, there could be a section where a person could ask something and it would be replied readily by a moderator. Obviously, the major pitfall of this would be that not everyone could keep the secret for long. Even to devalue the title to maybe something like 'helper".

I can't really wrap my head around why people think that way, but it's inexorable.
