Two days ago, a teacher asked me this while I was writting down an assignment. I was confused at first, what was the point?
I started thinking about it and, I really couldn't think of anything.
She then said: "When I got my two sons a ball, they would always fight over it. If one was playing with the ball, the other one would want to take the ball and use it himself. But if the ball was given to him, he wouldn't take it. They didn't like football at all. When I asked you this question, I assumed you wouldn't be able to answer, and I was right."
When she said this, it was crystal clear. When I see people with lots of money, I would go like, "Man, I wish I was a millionaire" but when she asked me what I would do with a million dollars, I could not answer.
Check this out, Bill Gates has a network of 72 billion dollars. He stated that he has donated over 28 billion dollars and also stated that he wishes to donate a further 95% of his wealth. Which means, currently, 68.4 billion dollars of his wealth. You might ask yourself, why? Well, that is A LOT of money. More money that he will ever need in his life, or his children's, or his grandchildren's...
Anyways, after a lot of thinking, I came to a decision that the only thing that I could do with one million dollars is give it away to someone that I know will not waste it. I wouldn't be able to keep it. I would always feel bad or pressured because of the fact that I could be helping people with it.
I want to know what YOU would do with that money.
Thank you for reading c:
