What I've Learned from Depression

Hey, it's Parrot. I recently watched the movie cyber bully, and I honestly felt the need to post this.
==========================================================================
A few years ago, I discovered I had depression. And anxiety. Yeah, it sucks, but you have to
live with it, and for a while, I couldn't. Literally. I want to take a moment to just mention some people who have helped me over the years without even knowing it.

Henry - Thanks so much. All of the skype calls we've had for three hours normally crack me up. You never miss a chance to make me laugh, and never miss a chance to Q.
duckluv321 - Your videos made me laugh, and the cheered me up on the days when I felt all alone.
And any others I forgot to mention.
==========================================================================
No, this doesn't mean I'm leaving. Yes, it does sound like a leaving thread, but it's not, so calm down. :p
Now onto what I've learned. I recently discovered this over the past month, and I feel like I need to share it -
Video games are just a distraction. A way to get out of the real world and put it all behind me.
Now, this may seem good to some, but to me, it's not. The video games sort of reset my depression. It goes away, and then it happens all over again, literally the same thing every week.
==========================================================================
Now- I don't want this to seem like I'm crying for attention. Because I'm not.
==========================================================================
Over the past years I've had a few struggles. When I was in fourth grade, my dad was told he only had three months to live. I was so sad. My dad had been there for me for years, and I didn't want him to leave me. Not this early in my life. Both of my grandparents were dead. (Sad I know.) And just in general, bad things were happening to my family and I.
==========================================================================
Now, I want to mention my depression and anxiety. It's not WAYYYY too major, but it does have in impact in my life. I also want to mention the "i want to kill myself" status update. I have wanted to commit suicide multiple times in my life, but I've decided against it. I don't know why I posted that, but I felt the need to address it. Thanks, Parrot.

Wow, thank you so much! That's one of the sweetest things I've ever read, and it's so amazing to know my videos have been able to help you.

I hope that everything gets better, and I wish you the absolute best!

Much love! <3

As someone who hasn't gone through depression, I can't give accurate empathetic advice, but I have felt very down at times and I've always managed to stay positive by remembering why I do what I do. I think of positive things like my friends, family, games I like, etc.

It helps :)

whatever you do don't do these things, you'll regret it.

1. Be really really stupid
2. Cut
3. Kill yourself.
