What do you use to get a 3D minecraft character into your image?

Hello I am wondering what do I use to get a 3D version of my MC character into thumbnails im making. I tried Mine-imator but when I try to erase the background in Photoshop there is always a left over part of the background.

You could upload your skin to a website that you are able to edit skins on. This would give you a 3D view of it..

Nova Skin is a great tool for this, even Fins uses it.
