Hey! This is all hypothetical, I don't plan on switching channels anytime soon. But I was just wondering. If I were say to switch channels at one point. From my current channel with 22k+ subscribers to a brand new one, which would get only about 5 thousand. Would I still get to keep my VIP? Again, this is all hypothetical but I would like an answer. Thanks! c:

Although I may not know much about the rank, my opinion would be that you should keep the VIP rank, regardless of switching channels or not. Unless you don't severely break any rules, then you still deserve to keep the rank. I don't see why people should lose their well earned rank because of a switch, they did work hard on the subscribers and they have earned the right, especially when they have been providing MCGamer content and promoting the network.
To conclusion, I would hope you still get to keep the rank. ^-^

Well, thank you. But I don't plan on switching channels any time soon! xD

Unfortunately, No. You application stated that you wanted VIP on one account and is associated with one channel, thus you are expected to maintain that association in order to keep your rank. If you don't maintain that association, then you don't keep your rank.

If you choose to switch channels and still record MCG on the new channel, then your VIP account would stay, but note that you would essentially be putting a lifespan on your VIP. Currently, VIP rank for Youtubers are granted to a single person for a single channel for simplicity's sake, as it makes tracking easier for both us and your audience. However, if you change your channel, your old channel that earned you the VIP rank will basically be seen as non-active since that's the account you are associated with through your VIP application. So once we do our next VIP check, and we see that your channel hasn't been uploading videos in a while (because you've moved channels), you will be marked inactive and likely have your VIP removed.

If you choose to switch channels and stop recording MCG, it's basically the same thing but accelerated. Your account really would be inactive, and your new account wouldn't qualify for VIP, so you'd lose your rank.

The best way to actually do this and keep VIP would be if your new channel passes for VIP, so you just fill out a new app and get it accepted, then let the other app for your old channel expire naturally.

I don't really know why a Youtuber would want to change channels, thus abandon their previous work and fame. This is not a situation we expected to happen, but that is how our policy must be interpreted.

Thank you. Let me understand if I got it right. I have 20,000+ subscribers and I get an average of 3000 views / video. I switch channels and get the same views / likes as I got on the previous one, only I have a lower amount of subscribers. Shouldn't that mean that the VIP rank would be just as worthy for the second channel as well?

In theory, yes, however as Col stated when they do the VIP sweep and check the channels and see your old one as inactive they will remove it, making a complication for you. You may have to then go on and explain some things and talk things over with Senior Staff.

Although I could have all of this wrong, dealing with VIP situations is entirely a responsibility of the Sr. Staff/administration.

Youtube VIP requirements do not go strictly on a Views/Video requirement. We still need the subscriber requirement on the second channel as well before it is considered for VIP. However, if your videos are that good, your second channel should quickly regain those 20,000 subs. Once you do so, you should apply for VIP again.

Ok, cool. So there's no way that I could get VIP if my new channel has under 20,000 subscribers. Right?

Correct. Whether you're You or some nobody with a channel of 8 subscribers, in the eyes of the application process you'd all be the same: people who don't meet the application requirements.
