Hi guys, so I've been having this problem which is quite annoying me. So, I built this machine, it has pretty decent specs, here they are:

CPU: AMD FX 9370
MOBO: Asrock 970 Extreme4
GPU: Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 OC WindForce 2GDDR5
PSU: XFX TS 550W Power Supply

So, the problem is that I've been having really unstable FPS. It would dip down from 600, to 40 and then back up to 600, it does that constantly. I'm suspecting that the CPU is the problem because it's not recommended for my motherboard and it also needs a 1000W PSU instead of my 550W. Is it worth getting the FX 8370 and replace the 9370? Also, I can get the 8370 for free. Do you guys think that would solve the problem or not? Any help would be much appreciated.

600 fps. 600. What the actual hell. 600 fps. My average is 20-30 fps.

I'm not an expert as FPS goes, but you could lock your frame rate on Minecraft Settings so your FPS don't fluctuate too much.

Also, if you haven't already, try updating your graphic cards drivers —surely it will help performance, I suppose.

Oh and, check if your CPU or GPU aren't overheating; this could maybe be the cause to your problem.

You definitely need a better power supply unit, you shouldn't be running a CPU with not enough power and it's not worth damaging your CPU.. Since they are so expensive, a 1000w psu isn't going to be extremely expensive

I had this problem in the past as well. I fixed it by allocating more RAM to minecraft. (You can do that in the launcher.)
What Ninetailefox92 said might be the problem as well.
