Honestly, Quarter Quell is just about who can't get caught in some stupid glitch. If you play it safe and just avoid everything as much as you can, you should be good. Quarter Quell is filled with bugs and glitches like this that just don't seem to be fixed.

Not much attention is paid towards Quarter Quell, I'm sure the devs will get to fixing this soon enough, it happened to me in the TnT disaster. -_-

I am here to calm the storm. This is not a glitch it is actually you running into the force field and attempting to not let you pass. The only issue is the client gets into the "no-go" zone before the server reacts and makes you get "stuck". Then you get kicked for flying. This will easily be resolved in 1.8 with the invisible blocks but for now just try to avoid the wall. TL
