Some lag on US for me?

During games of MCSG for me, I have been having lag spikes during the start of the game.
I am not sure if it is my ping but it has been happening for many games. It might be 1.7 I don't know.

What kind of lag spikes?

Is it FPS? or Connection?
If your game sort of freezes and you cant do anything, thats FPS,
My suggestions to fix fps lag are:
lower render distance
optifine
put MC on High Priority in the Task Manager
Allocate some more ram to MC/Java

For connection lag
you can move around, but you the clock isn't ticking, nobody is moving.
That is most likely ping.
The only help I can give you with ping is to reload your router
or get a new internet provider.

No one else has really mentioned lag on the U.S. network recently. I assume your problem stems from your personal connection or your computer (fps lag).

It is probably just your internet connection though, if I had to guess. You may want to check that out.

I don't get either FPS or ping lag spikes, so it might just be you, but I am not 100% sure.

What is your ping and how much FPS are you getting?

1.7 is a bit laggy, try playing on 1.8, also maybe lower your settings?
