Should I buy Rust?

I have always wanted to play Rust for a while now. But I heard that if you're playing solo, then it's not going to be fun. You will get killed very easily/quickly. You'll need a group of friends to fully enjoy the experience. I don't have any friends who play Rust, which sucks.
It's just that one thing that is preventing me from buying this game. So should I buy it, even when I'm playing alone?

I've played it for 40 hours+- and I can say that it's a lot of fun, especially with friends, but it's also good for solo. Although, the game got a lot of hackers and it's really annoying that after finally collecting some good loot just to be killed someone with aimbot from an insane distance...

Edit : My experience is from the old update, idk about the new one :3
