SG Chat Problem

For some reason I can't type or message anything in the SG chat. Does anyone know why and how I can fix it? Thank you.

Did you type /chat off? This prevents you from chatting as well as seeing what other people say. (without removing the announcements.) Try typing /chat on.

Also, did you turn off your chat in your Minecraft options? This will also prevent you from chatting, I suggest checking.

I had "Commands Only" mod in the Multiplayer menu. Thank you very much for your help.
