Server Lag

What's the deal with all the terrible server lag today? I can't play a game without terrible lag or getting disconnected. I know it's not my internet connection either because I tried playing on other minecraft servers and tried to play MCSG on my friends Wi-Fi and it still didn't work. Halp prease.

1.5.1 and Bukkit are making a big lag storm, it's not only MCSG.

They are working on it, lag can be caused by any number of factors. I apologize for any inconveniences.

Lol I can't play on ca servers, I always crash mid-game or in the lobby. Guess I will be playing on MC-TF2, Roxbot and Project Ares for the time being.

But yes, bukkit and 1.5 did cause some problems with lag etc. It seems players either really improved their connection after 1.5 (I did, I went from really bad connection to actually playable) and some players suffered decreases in connection. At this stage, I would wait for our next plugin update and see if that helps, as every new release of the plugin fixes bugs and is designed to be more efficient.

All mcsg regions have been lagging since the update to 1.5
1.51 may have made it worse but this has been a problem for awhile.
I'd say it's been a problem since mcsg v2 was released, however for a few days before mc 1.5 update it was great.

I'd recommend playing on the US servers, as CA is having some issues - noticed it earlier when messing around on the system itself.

We'll be looking for an Australian based datacenter shortly, and hopefully come up with some sort of plan to get Australian based servers going. We're looking into what servers other communities are using.
