this makes my Iwata....
I don't think most people recgonize Iwata's contributions to various Nintendo games. Despite being a higher up at Nintendo, Iwata still found time to help fix games such as Earthbound (best game ever btw), Pokemon Gold/Silver, Pokemon Stadium and even Smash Brothers. His programming prowess was nothing short of legendary, including reinventing algorithims in order to help compress the data of various nintendo games to fit their designated cartridges (Earthbound, Gold/Silver). Had it not been for Iwata, these games would be short of their release time by like a year and their overall reviews may have been down. He also redid the entire Pokemon battle system in Stadium. Iwata was THE icon for nintendo in the later stages of the company and left behind a legacy I think we should all remember. It saddens me to think that E3 was his last thing he did as it was generally poorly received by the community.

I know Giggums was really upset about it. I've never really followed Nintendo but it's always sad to see anyone pass away. Rest in peace. =/

Nintendo is responsible for the childhoods of so many individuals. Iwata himself has saved so many lives and is responsible for the blossoming of countless imaginations through his many contributions of Nintendo. I could go on about the myriad of outstanding feats he made for Nintendo, such as coding Earthbound from scratch or multiplying Nintendo's sales by 12x through his production of the Wii. It sickens me that the last thing we gave him was words of hate and disappointment towards this year's E3 conference. To those with Streetpass, his Mii will live on in your 3DS's. And to anyone with a childhood filled with gaming, may he live on in your youth. All of us here benefit from his greatness. Minecraft would most likely not be in existence if not for him. Nintendo is the root of all video game history, for the most part. And Iwata made sure that it continued to shine at #1. Rest in Peace, Satoru Iwata. You are a legend. May you be, Heavenbound.

>implying nintendo was really any good to begin with.

I might post my opinions on nintendo l8er, (staff don't delete this, it shouldn't cause flame.)

but Iwata was actually a great person, and it's sad to see him go.

A real shame he died at 55, and he missed E3 getting a tumor removed. Wasn't enough :c
