Resource pack items help?

Hello MCSG Texture pack community, I was wondering how to get google images pictures into your texture pack.

In English: Basically what I'm saying is, basically say I want like a can of sprite as my golden apple, I drag the picture into the texture pack folder, and rename it 'apple_golden' (I think that's what it is' And it comes into Minecraft with a white box around it? Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to make the "White box" transparent. The way how you make it transparent is you only select the white part and delete it, and then save it as a png file.
