The developers are making some fixes to the new voting system to make it more accurate, but ultimately it will stay. It gives all the underplayed maps a chance to be played.

Often people say, "Well, that map is bad because it has no tier 2s/there are hardly any chests". This is because you've never actually played the map enough to find a good route!

The point of this is so people have a better chance of playing underplayed maps, and they might realize that they aren't as bad as they seem.

This doesn't need to be a thread, as the developers and staff have already stated that they are keeping the system like this.
