optifine probs

so i have recently been having some problems concerning fps lag after i uninstalled magic launcher. i re-installed minecraft and optifine (the only mod i have) and i set my setting to try to get good fps. now i get great fps. averaging 90. the world loads fine, except player models and names don't appear until they are fairly close maybe 100 blocks, this is a problem when looking for people and being snuck up upon. before player models would appear as the chunks load, and sometimes before... did i do something wrong, how should i fix this??

I'm having this problem as well. I haven't really found a solution on fixing it, but I've learnt to live with it.

Its a Minecraft thing, nothing lag/settings related.

I actually think this was MCSG related. I remember seeing a thread about fixing it, although I don't exactly remember.

It's the new minecraft update. They nerfed it for some reason but nothing to do with optifne
