Where does it state in non-ambiguous terms that it is strictly against the rules?
Zooming is hardly an unfair advantage, it often will barely help.
Mini Map and X-Ray are real unfair advantages, this is a minor feature I don't even use.

The videos I've seen people playing (big names) they use optifine saying it's allowed. I'd assume so.

Also you're now asking if it's allowed despite at the start saying "You just admitted to breaking rules, it's against the rules." ... Oh dear.
