Yeah thats how it works, but you could walk down the street and punch someone you hate too, so it occasionally happens but most people have enough brain power to not do it.

Personally, I'm more surprised Notch hasn't been added as VIP after all this time.

Pretty sure Notch hasn't actually logged into SG. If I'm not mistaken, the authentification servers went down for a few minutes, and you were able to log in as anybody, so someone logged in as Notch and joined SG. Just the story I've heard.
